About Us

Hi! Jeff and Lisa here. We have been living out our dream since May 2009 operating this family-owned business. We have been captivated by Cooke City since the first time we visited in 1999 and we knew we'd be back to stay.

Our family chose this area as home because of the countless activities. There is so much to do in the summer from wildlife watching, hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, to skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. We enjoy the serenity and adventure of living in such a unique place. We hope you come and find what you have been looking for, just as we have. This rustic mountain town will definitely ease the stress of a hectic day-to-day.

With Yellowstone National Park's Northeast Entrance and scenic Lamar Valley just minutes away, come and experience the wonderful beauty of it all from the comfort of our lodge here in Cooke City!

In winter, Cooke City can be accessed by wheeled vehicles through the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, south of Gardiner, Montana. This road is open 24 hours to Cooke City, but not beyond it. On occasion, the road may close for a few hours at a time to allow for plowing after a heavy snowfall inside the park.

You can access Cooke City from Wyoming Highway 296, also known as Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, by only by snowmobile in the winter. You'll be able to park your vehicle at Pilot Creek. From there, it's a nine-mile ride by snowmobile on a groomed trail.

Reviews

Jeff and Lisa do a great job taking care of this hidden gem of a small hotel. We stayed here again just recently for our fishing trip into Yellowstone NP. They have done a number of upgrades to rooms that were much appreciated. We had 3 rooms on the second floor so we were all together. Our only complaint was the cigar smoker on the first floor that made sitting on the upper deck each evening very unpleasant. The smell was also evident in our rooms as we tried to keep them cool with the provided fans. Our suggestion would be that smoking only be allowed on the south side of the building. Thanks Jeff and Lisa. See you next year!
Great place to stay. trout42, TripAdvisor
Super cute place, clean, and very comfortable. The beds were so comfortable. We had gone hard all week seeing everything in Yellowstone and towns in the surrounding area. We really needed a comfortable place and comfortable bed to get a good nights rest before our flight the next day. Cooke City is such a great little town. Lots of shops and places to eat. Owner and caretaker both very nice and helpful. We stayed in the 2 story area. The outside balcony area was very pretty, flowers and rocking chairs. Great place. Highly recommend.
Great place! Very satisfied with our stay. Adventurer604063, TripAdvisor
Me and my two boys bumped into this place as we journeyed along the Beartooth highway. We thought we might stay here for a night and ended up liking it so much we stayed for 3 days. The staff are excellent and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We enjoyed eating at some of the restaurants in town and loved going over to the saloon at night. It was really nice sitting on the porch in the evenings with the table and chairs set out. If I ever return to cook City in the future I will certainly be staying here.
Great Find. Berkley W, TripAdvisor
