September 1-May 25: 8:00AM - 8:00 PM. May 25-September 1: 8:00AM - 9:00 PM. If you arrive and our office is closed, your name will be on a list on the office door with your key code. This way if you are enjoying watching wildlife you do not have to hurry.

Our rooms and cabins are NOT pet friendly. Pets are also NOT allowed to stay on the property in vehicles. Our rooms and cabins are non smoking, non vaping and no Marijuana. We understand that Marijuana is legal in MT but, keep it in your car or in an enclosed container. If we smell it in the room or cabin we will charge a fine. Make sure you have listed the correct number of guests (4 MAX). Undeclared Guests, Pets, Smoking, Vaping, or Marijuana in our rooms will cost you a $200.00 Fine.

WE CHARGE THE CARD YOU HAVE ON FILE FOR YOUR ENTIRE STAY IN ACCORDANCE WITH YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY. EXAMPLE: 14 DAY CANCELLATION WE CHARGE 14 DAYS OUT. 30 DAYS WE CHARGE OUT 30 DAYS 60 DAYS WE CHARGE OUT 60 DAYS.
Effective 6-27-22 we will be charging a 4% credit card surcharge. In case of a emergency cancellation we will charge a 10% cancellation fee.
CANCELLATION POLICY WITH NO REFUNDS
14 days (OR MORE SEE CHART BELOW) PRIOR TO ARRIVAL notice for cancellation is required to avoid a charge to your credit card which is equal to the cost of the entire stay of the room or cabin you reserved (includes early departures and no-shows). WE DO NOT RE-RENT ROOMS OR MOVE DATES. If you are within your cancellation policy make sure to receive a cancellation number!

We do not offer electrical plug ins for electric cars at the Elk Horn Lodge. There is a pay station in Cooke City for your use.
PLEASE NOTE: Restaurants may be limited during the off seasons late April and Early May and again in Late September, October, November and Early December. You have a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and table and chairs in your room. We also have a gas BBQ grill. You may want to pick up some groceries in a bigger town when traveling here.
SUMMER TRAVEL PLEASE NOTE! We can be accessed from YNP via the North East Entrance. We can also be accessed via the Chief Joseph Highway 296 just outside of Cody, Wyoming. NOTE: This road is scheduled to be plowed by the Middle of May please check with Wyoming Roads to see when this road is open for the season. Occasionally a road closure will re-direct your route to the Elk Horn Lodge but as long as there is a road open no matter if it is a longer drive than you planned we can not refund your room reservation. We have a limited number of high occupancy rooms and cabins and turn many away, so please understand you will be charged for the room we guaranteed you.
Note: Beartooth Highway is "SCHEDULED" to be open Friday of Memorial Day Weekend until sometime in October. It is your responsibility to make sure it is OPEN or CLOSED. We will not make any refunds due to the Beartooth Highway 212 being closed. This is not the main route to Cooke City. It is only a Scenic Byway. It's your responsibility to make sure it is open before you decide to drive it. If the Beartooth Highway is closed take this route from Red Lodge: Hwy 308 to 72 then 72 becomes 120 when you cross into Wyoming. Stay on Wyoming 120 until you turn right on to Hwy 296 (Chief Joseph). If you see a green sign that says Cody 16 you missed the right turn on the Chief Joseph.
WINTER TRAVEL: Begininng November 1st we can be accessed by WHEELED VEHICLES through the north gate of Yellowstone National Park at Gardiner. This road is open 24 hours a day to Cooke City but not beyond in the Winter. We can also be accessed by SNOWMOBILE ONLY via the 212 Highway from Pilot Creek Parking Lot.
